I would say that everything is almost back to normal on the computer, but that would be lying. I still have a couple of small programs to install, but nothing that can’t wait just a few days. Nothing I need to use in the immediate future. My computer is not acting quite the way it used to, in fact, it’s working far better than it ever has. Not bad for a chick who didn’t know her way around one of these things just five years ago. Seriously. I know some of you might not believe it, but five years ago I knew a computer had a monitor, a keyboard, a mouse and a CPU. I also knew that it could be used for wordprocessing. If you would have asked me to turn it on, I would have probably looked at you like you were asking the impossible. Spurg will tell you that I was convinced I would destroy a computer if I even touched it. (Go ahead and laugh, it’s completely true!) Now I’m pulling out their guts and upgrading them.
Everything seems to be running smoother and faster, and of course, I am just thrilled! I figure by doing everything myself, I saved a good fortune in labor charges at my local Mac shop. Tim over at MacDaddy’s is a darling, but I’m glad that I was able to save the $90 an hour. Don’t get me wrong, he’s not one to overcharge you, and he will tell you if what you want to do to your computer will cost more than a brand new model that he has available. He’s a down to earth honest guy who loves Mac’s. He’s also been known to give a bit of free advice over the phone when it’s needed. And I’ve been known to call him for advice every now and then.
On the knitting front. Obviously with the computer tech stuff that I outlined in the last post, there hasn’t been a whole lot of progress made on the socks I am knitting, but I can prove there has been some knitting going on. Just take a look at this!

As I have also mentioned before, this is my own pattern, and it should be on the blog in the next couple of weeks for you. I’m sure you may have noticed, the blog has finally gotten dressed with all those wonderful little things on the sidebar, as well as a new header. WordPress is beginning to feel a bit more like a blogging home. I still have more things I want to do to Talullah’s World, and in time, it will all get done.

The knitting looks fabulous. Really.
