Yep. That Went Well.

It’s been a long weekend. Thankfully, most of the drama had nothing to do with anyone in our house, but had a lot to do with some extended family members.. big cause for concern, but thankfully yesterday, we received word that the involved parties are okay.

Sydney developed a local reaction to the tetanus part of her shots. A little scary considering she developed a hive that was 2.5 by 3.5 at the injection site. Poor thing has been itching like crazy and benedryl has become her new best friend. Now all that remains is some swelling, and discoloration, but it doesn’t look half as bad as it did on Sunday.

I’ve gotten the most difficult part of the “C” word project figured out, for the most part. I have set it aside for the moment, just so I can think on it and come back to it. There is one little thing about it that is bugging me, but I know I will be able to figure it out and correct it once I take a step back for a few days. Once that part is figured out and the charts drawn up, I can work the easier parts of the pattern and it won’t be long after that before I have a pattern up.

So what to do in the meantime? Cast on a knit project, or two. I’m playing around with a simple stitch pattern that I came across in the “Reader’s Digest Books Complete Guide to Needlework”. The project isn’t anything fancy, but it’s simple, uses a hand-dyed hank of yarn that I have been wanting to use and will result in yet another free pattern. I started it on Saturday and the object should be finished in the next couple of days. Of course the pattern for this one should be up in the next week or two.

There is something else that I have been up to around here. Christie was sweet enough to send me a Ravelry invite, and I have been busy setting up my profile, projects, and patterns through there. I have found a few of you on there already, and for those of you who aren’t on yet, you can sign up for the waiting list. (There’s about 6,000 on it right now, eeek!) I’ve emailed Jessica, one of the two people who are running the site and she assures me that they are adding new members as fast as they can. She also mentioned that they are planning on handing out some invites to the beta testers fairly soon. For those of you who are interested, go sign up for the waiting list, and should I get some invites, well, I will only have so many to hand out and will probably draw names for those who are interested!

Off I go now. I have some photos that I need to take so that I can prove to everyone that I do still knit around here!

  1. Yikes, sorry about the reaction to the shot! I had a reaction to the TB test…not a TB type reaction…a reaction to the suspension. I got the infamous red streak. LOL

Ravelry looks interesting…but like chauntel. it might be a little overwhelming for me. :-D

  2. The ravelry thing just about has me unraveled. Too much info in one place. I am a tad bit overwhelmed with it and feel with a blog it’s a tad redundant but I will give myself a bit of time to transfer some stuff over there. Like my stash inventory, projects completed. Post about how you like it when you get a chance!

  3. Hope little “S” is feeling better soon …. good luck with figuring out “C” & EWE go “GO GIRL”!! HUGz!

  4. Poor Sydney I hope she’s feeling better soon! Can’t wait to see some of your knitting!

  5. If you do happen to get any Ravelry invites, go ahead and sign me up for the drawing :-)

Hope Sydney’s reaction goes away soon and thank goodness the drama wasn’t in your household. I know I’ve had enough drama in my house for a while (sick kid, sick me). Take care!

  6. :) !
